Gridware Software.

Dear Managers,

At work we use LSF(Load sharing facility) from platform for workload and
resource management, which includes licensing, running jobs across
different machines.

I was wondering if anyone had used gridware from Sun, and would love to
hear about your good/bad experiences.

Our network here has a mix of Suns running Solaris and PC's running
Linux, and LSF has worked great for us. The configurations is simple and
the support is not bad either.

Gridware is free and my understanding is that it is developed by Sun and
not by the Open-Source community. Some of the issues i am taking into
consideration for making my choice.

1. Cost (Gridware is free, LSF costs a bunch for licenses and more for
   support)

2. I have LSF working now, do i really want to move ?
(I would if gridware did a bunch of stuff that LSF didnt)

3. Are the chances of Sun canning Gridware greater than Platform(the
company the writes LSF) folding up.

4. Quality of support for gridware(apparently you can buy support from
   Sun)

5. Will gridware run on Linux ?

What do ya'll think ? Are there other issues that i am missing.

Thanks for taking the time to read my email.

Best Regards.
