All,
Very strange NIS+ issue.
OS: SunOS 5.8 Generic_108528-29 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-150
nsswitch.conf:
passwd: files [SUCCESS=return] nisplus
group: files [SUCCESS=return] nisplus
Problem: When trying to change passwords for local machine accounts I
receive permission denied. Now, if I take out the nisplus token from the
nsswitch.conf file I have no problems with this.
History: Due to some problems with the box one of the admins chose to build
a new box and move things over. Now I cannot verify, but I suspect that
what transpired is that the machine credentials were never removed before
initializing the new box and now there are conflictiing credentials in the
creds table. Possible? Anyone seen this before?
