Disk in an S1 without a heat shield?

I have a 36gig drive in an external unipack. I recently got an empty S1
disk array. I am planning to move that disk from the unipack to the S1
array, since it will fit better in the cabinet. I have the needed bracket,
but the disk doesn't have the heat shield on the botttom. Has anyone put
a disk into an S1 without the heat shield? Does it work, or is the disk
going to melt down (and possibly destroy the S1 array with it)?
