DMFE TX stall detected

Hi all,

A strange problem has developed on one of our servers, a Sun Fire V100.
The dmfe1 interface is connected to our backups network, and around the
time that a network backup kicks off (via Veritas NetBackup), _lots_ of
the following messages are logged to syslog :

Mar 4 04:04:00 hostname.example.net dmfe: [ID 801725 kern.info] NOTICE:
dmfe1: TX stall detected after 40 ticks in state 7; automatic recovery
initiated

This has only recently started to happen - sometime in the last few
days. The system has been up 107 days with no interruptions to service
prior to that. The backups seem to complete OK, but the errors are still
perturbing me.

I have Googled for variations on this error message, and so far I have
only been able to turn up one result [1], with someone describing the
same problem as myself. System is a SF V100, Solaris 9 4/04 (5.9
Generic_117171-02).

If anyone could shed any light on this, it would be appreciated. I will
of course summarise.

Many thanks,

-Mark
