I am experiencing slowness on our Sendmail server.
We are using Mozilla Thunderbird on Windows 2000
desktop. E-mail clear th desktop quickly enough , but
are slow reaching the inbox on the Sendamil server
( /var/mail/[username] ) - for instance I have just sent
myself a test message , it took 5 minutes to reach my
inbox. The server is not heavily loaded , here is some
output from 'top'
load averages: 5.48, 4.92, 4.73 listonos

Also , running 'mailq' indicates that the machine does not have a large
mail
queue - a couple of hundred items typically.
Any ideas please ?
