maxphys, vxio and sd.conf

Hello Gurus;

I have a F15K Domain running Solaris 9 117171-10. (Actually I have several
such domains.. :-))

It is connected to a EMC DMX via EMC OEM Brocade switches.

It has Emulex LP9002 HBAs.

I understand that the stripe width of the DMX is around 8 Mbytes.

Thus I set maxphys=8388608 in /etc/system. (Many sites recommend this value
which makes sense)

However, I understand also that I have to set vxio (I have VxVM and VxFS 3.5
installed) and also the corresponding value in sd.conf (for the sd driver)
to really optimize the IO

So

set vxio:vol_maxio=8192 <- ??

and

sd_max_xfer_size <-- ?? How do I set this in sd.conf and to what value?

Could anybody assist?

Warmest Regards

Steven Sim
