problem creating a volume using veritas volume manager3.5

Hello,

I'm attempting to create a volume using the following syntax and I'm
getting this error:-

vxassist -g san_dg -U fsgen make ora1_san 15m

vxvm:vxassist: ERROR: Record not in disk group

can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
