Dear all,

Our 1.3TB disc ran out of inodes. Df reports that the current number of
inodes is 1724273, and a
mkfs -m /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0s6 report a nbpi of 1161051 as shown below,

nsect=128,ntrack=48,bsize=8192,fragsize=8192,cgsize=143,free=1,rps=1,nbpi=1161051,opt=t,apc=0,gap=0,nrpos=1,maxcontig=128
/dev/rdsk/c3t2d0s6 3424583600

Filesystem iused ifree %iused Mounted on
/dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0 106609 342671 24% /
/dev/dsk/c1t0d0s7 4 3874812 0% /export/spare
/dev/dsk/c3t2d0s6 1734273 12031 99% /export/home

I want to increase the number of inodes by five, which would be
1734273*5 = 8671365 as what would be reported by df. However, in order
to get this value what value should I pass to newfs -i nnnnnnnn ?

I have to remake this filesystem by the close of play today... sigh.
Any pointers would be greatly apprciated as I don't want to get this
wrong and have to do it again later.

Many thanks in advance,
S,
