Hi!
We have an old E4000 system with 8 CPU, 4GB RAM, 1x IO board, 4 PCM
modules and a PPS.
Some time ago the system started to report a failed PPS (see prtdiag
snips below) and the fans in PCMs don't turn any more.
We've obtained a spare PPS and replaced it. The system booted, the fans
didn't start and after a few minutes a bang! indicated a blown resistor
on PPS (ceramic high power at the entrance of 220V).
The machine now limps along in a well cooled room with a fan fitted
externally.
Can anybody point me into the right direction on both problems (fans and
PPS failure) which I think are connected?
