E3500 - how to check if TPE link integrity check is on?

Gurus,

I've got an E3500 system that won't get on the network. I suspect that
the system has its ethernet link integrity test disabled, though I do
not know how to confirm my hypothesis.

I have tried pulling out the I/O board that houses the Ethernet port,
and looking for a jumper that controls the link integrity test. I
didn't find one on the board, and the documentation for the I/O board
(P/N 501-4338) doesn't list any jumpers to set.

I have also tried setting the 'tpe-link-test?' PROM variable, but the
PROM claims that this is not a vaild variable. I don't know anything
else to check or try. Ideas?

Any assistance would be appreciated. I will summarize. Thanks for your
time.

-Luke
