Hello,
I have the following configuration for backup:
- Solaris 8 with latest st.conf patch 108725-17
- NEO 2000 tape library with SDLT320 and SDLT600
- Software Veritas Netbackup V5.1 MP1
- st.conf for SLT600
tape-config-list=
"QUANTUM SDLT600", "QuantumSDLT", "SDLT_data";
SDLT_data = 1,0x38,0,0x19639,4,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,3;
If the backup software is mounting a tape on the SDLT600 drive I got the
following message logs in /var/adm/logs
bptm[3540]: [ID 832037 daemon.error] scsi command failed, may be
timeout, scsi_pkt.us_reason = 20
which means according to the /usr/include/sys/scsi/scsi_pkt.h
#define CMD_UNX_BUS_FREE 20 /* Unexpected Bus Free Phase
occurred */
that an unexpected bus free phasee error occured.
I already replaced the SDLT600 tape by a new one but the error still
comming up. Therefore I assume no hardware error. The library and
SDLT320 are on the same scsi bus and with SDLT320 there are no problems.
The NEO2000 are at a new SUN Ultra-2 PCI adapter with qus driver, I
installed because this in not part of Solaris 8 or 9.
I discussed this already with Veritas but no solution comes up since
within the last 4 weeks.
Can anybody help me or give some hints about this error behavior ?
I will summarite.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Anton
