Solaris 8
SUN patches
After Patches in Single user mode reboot -- -r

Problem:
telnetd: open /dev/logindmux: No such device or address

I saw some postings and tried to load it manually but can't. It
resets the name_to_major back to 4 and can't load it:

# rem_drv logindmux
Driver (logindmux) not installed.
# add_drv logindmux
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: logindmux
Warning: Driver (logindmux) successfully added to system but
failed to attach

# grep dmux name_to_major
logindmux 4

The link is ther under /dev and the pseudo device is also
thare.. I remove the driver and did an mknod on the file with
118 but still can't get it to work:

#cd ../devices/pseudo/
# ls -l | grep dmux
crw------- 1 root sys 11, 4 Jul 6 2001
clone@0:logindmux
with:
mknod logindmux c 11 118

# ls -l | grep dmux
crw------- 1 root sys 11, 118 Jul 6 2001
clone@0:logindmux

# rem_drv logindmux
Driver (logindmux) not installed.
# add_drv logindmux
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: logindmux
Warning: Driver (logindmux) successfully added to system but
failed to attach

If I change the name_to_major to 118 for logindmux and
reboot -- -r Will it fix this problem? What else can be done
to fix this problem wiht telnet?

Carlos
