Protocol Not supported

I researched this problem and found a couple of archived msgs that really had no resolution. Listed below are the errors I'm getting. Please Help !!

Not sure if this error is related to my not connecting to anything across my router. I can ping /telnet/ftp & exceed into the unix box

from anyone of my workstations on my side of the router. My

"defaultrouter" is setup pointing to my router. I've even attempted to

add a route using "route add default xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" but the return

response is "route: socket: Protocol not supported."

BELOW is what I found when I ran DMESG

uranus in.mpathd[108]: [ID 801587 daemon.error] setup_rtsock: socket

PF_ROUTE: Address family not supported by protocol family.

I've installed a new NIC realtek 8139D in my X86 Solaris box two weeks ago. I've configured the following and not sure if this is related to

any of the files I've adjusted. The main thing throwing me off is the

fact that ftp telnet ssh and ping all work to and from other machines on my side of the router.

/etc These files exist and have be adjusted

hostname.rtls0

orion

defaultrouter

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

resolv.conf

domain universe.net

nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

nsswitch.conf

host: files dns

hosts

127.0.01 localhost

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx orion loghost

netmasks

xxx.xxx.0.0 255.255.255.0

This is the first of many X86 boxes that need to be installed but wanted to make sure this one was up and running before any others get built. System stats AMD 3000+ 1gb ram 60gb HD Realtek 8139 NIC

Thanks

Dave
