diff btw df -k & du -sk

Hi Managers,
       My DBA recreated index files and deleted old
index file on oracle database. But the deleted space
is not showing using df -k .. Here is the output.

   root@nwproddb # df -k .
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity
Mounted on
/dev/vx/dsk/fmsproddb_dg/fmsproddb_data
                     199859180 165717020 32008363
84% /data/fmsprod/data
root@nwproddb # du -sk .
110547568 .

Any ideas what needs to be done to claim the space.
