What kind of machine do you have ?, Do you have a sun Array like
(photon) A5x00 ?
What kind of license do you have ?, workgroup o array ready ?

If you are planning to upgrade to Solaris 9, why don't you do a full
reinstallation, it's
less time consuming than do and upgrade. You can't use the option 1, because
the VVM 3.0.4 packages are different from the VVM 3.5 packages, first
of all in VVM 3.5
you have different commands for the licenses.

Licenses for VVM 3.2 and below are different from VVM3.5

I did an upgrade like that some months ago, I deported all my data
groups, I did a new
installation in my mirrored disk, I installed the new veritas version
3.5 and then I imported
my data groups again, I didn't have any problem with the license
because I had a A5x00
connected to my e2900. I don't like to use my boot disk encapsulated,
I always use two
slices dedicated to rootdg, I think disksuite is better for boot disk
and VVM is better for
data disks.
