Hi all,
Im in need of some help, we seem to have some disk
failures for one of our raid groups:
# metastat d55
d55: RAID
State: Needs Maintenance
Invoke: metareplace -f d55 c3t8d0s4 <new device>
Interlace: 32 blocks
Size: 35316468 blocks
Original device:
Size: 35319424 blocks
Device Start Block Dbase State
Hot Spare
c3t8d0s4 330 No
Maintenance
c3t9d0s4 330 No Last
Erred
c3t10d0s4 330 No Okay
I inserted a new disk, made sure the partition
(c3t12d0s4) was greater than that of the original
(c3t8d0s4) and then i ran the metareplace command as
was specified in the display above:
# metareplace -f d55 c3t8d0s4 c3t12d0s4
d55: device c3t8d0s4 is replaced with c3t12d0s
but in metastat, it shows this new disk as
'maintenance':
# metastat d55
d55: RAID
State: Needs Maintenance
Invoke: metareplace -f d55 c3t12d0s4 <new device>
Interlace: 32 blocks
Size: 35316468 blocks
Original device:
Size: 35319424 blocks

some other things, dunno if it helps any:
trying to attach the orig disk to the raid:
# metattach d55 c3t8d0s4
metattach: att23: /dev/dsk/c3t8d0s4: I/O error
# metareplace -e -f d55 c3t12d0s4
d55: device c3t12d0s4 is enabled
(metastat still shows the disk as in 'maintenance'
state.)
Any ideas/suggestions on what I can do to fix these?
I've been searching sun docs and sunmanagers, but
havent come across a solution yet.
