Exceed remote login to Solaris doesn't return anything back

Hi Managers,

We use Exceed 8.0. to connect to servers with Solaris 2.8 on them.
There are some other machines which we connect to remotely, and they
are mix of Solaris 8 and Solaris 9. Servers are E4500 and V880. When I
use Exceed 8.0 XDMCP Broadcast I can see all the machines on which I
want to login remotely. When I try to connect remotely some machines
return nothing... no login screen, no nothing...

Also with the same Exceed version, running from the same client
machine, I can log in to many other SUN machines, servers. I can
telnet to the all the machines from windows with all the users on all
the SUN machines/servers.

An observation: I have always been successfull to connect remotely to
a Sun machine through Exceed 8.0 that has Solaris 9 installed on it,
while the machines that show intermittent behaviour (i.e. some let me
connect and some don't return anything) always have Solaris 8. Are
there some settings/configurations that you need to do explicitly on
Solaris 8 to allow Exceed remote connections ?

I would really appreciate if any experts out there can give a clue or
a solution to this problem.

Regards,
Aijaz Ahmed
