Hello,
We use Solaris 2.8 on E5500 and SF4800, together with Veritas VM and
NFS, NIS. Everything works well on the server, users can login with
telnet, folders are mounted well. However, when we try to login with
(Common Desktop Environment) Exceed (Hummingbird) or Citrix , after
writing username / password, nothing comes back, just the clock ticking.
While it is trying to get us in via CDE, I telnet to the server and
check the user. I see that, processes run for the user, home folder is
mounted, and there seems to be no error under .dt/errorlog or
.dt/startlog.
I did ypstop/ypstart, killed dtlogin and started again. I checked CPU
and memory usage, network usage. Those usages were low, and other
servers in the same IP group were OK. I stopped many jobs suspecting
they may be the cause.
I had to reboot the server after working on the problem for 3 hours to
let the users in. Reboot solved the problem. Can you think of anything
that might cause that problem?
