Can you please help me recover data .
The My Sql data was in /usr ( yes that was a mistake) and since usr file system is overloaded and gave error and unable to boot I Tried to boot from the cd in single user mode and went to the system console
I first tried to mount the /USR file system and /opt file system and I tried to do tar and copied the files in /usr/local/mysql to /opt/data.tar *
And now I have all the MySql directory in /opt/data.tar file
I tried to edit the /etc/vfstab file and tried to reboot but whenever I tried to reboot it is giving ths same error "/usr file system damaged" so I tried to put the bootable CD and went to the system console but all the entires saved in /etc/vfstab are not saved so what should I do to revover the files from opt .........I dont have a tape drive .
I am no longer hosting on my server all i am interested is recovering data now
Thank You
