Hi Gurus,
Working on faulty V100 running Solaris 8 - Not sure of patch level but has
been
running without problems for months until found dead this morning.
Problem is I'm unable to get to ok> Prompt on faulty V100 (not sure of exactly
what
is wrong with the machine, but boot-device was automatically set to net (was
disk
earlier today on the one occasion that it did start as normal - when it stayed
up for
about 5 mins). Net card seems to be starting as half-duplex as well which is
slightly
confusing because machine was up and running earlier as I said - I have not
changed
this either.
Aiming to get to ok> prompt to set boot device back to disk and diag-switch to
false.
~~~~
Started off using hyperterm, but it was awful.
Using teraterm now, but using "send break" during boot process does not work.
#. during boot process gets me to the lom> prompt but keying lom> break does
not
work as it normally would.
When trying both of the above, the machine goes back to the normal boot
process
output (most recently TIMEOUT WAITING FOR ARP/RARP PACKET in example below).
I believe we're waiting for the ARP/RARP (thus stalling boot process) as
machine
trying to boot from net while in half-duplex mode.
I have hunted high and low for an answer to this for a few hours now and have
found some similar issues to get to where I am now, but none that get me to
ok>.
I would really appreciate your help and will post summary if it's the last
thing I do.
Thanks in advance.
