Dear SunManagers,

Highly appreciate your response urgently pertaining
to this problem.

I've a SunFire V880 machine with Solaris 108528-14
kernel patch. After installed the recommended patches
recently, I'm having problem getting the CDE login
menu.

When booting up, the GUI login screen would not
appear.
It stops at the console login prompt without going to
CDE. After user logging in using the command line,
it will display Openwin screen and access openwin. But
it can't access CDE. When we exit from openwin, it
goes
back to console login prompt

The error below appears before entering the command
line login prompt.
/usr/openwin/bin/xrdb: Connection refused
/usr/openwin/bin/xrdb: Can't open display ':0'

Couldn't open display connection

The meesage below is taken from /.dt/errorlog file
# more errorlog
Tue Jun 11 12:15:33 2002
Workspace Manager: I/O error on display:: :0.0
Tue Jun 11 12:15:33 2002
dtsession: Connection to server lost - exiting.
Tue Jun 11 14:58:05 2002
dtsession: Invalid display name - exiting.

Previously, we encountered this problem after
installing recommended patches (108528-14)
but a reboot on the server solve the problem and the
CDE could be accessed. But a recent
reboot on the server caused this problem again but a
reboot this time did not solve the
problem.

Highly appreciate someone can shed a light on this.
Thank you.

Regards,
Andrew
