Sounds silly, but super critical for us.
Most of our printing is done from a sun 6800 running 2.8. We use the HP print
driver given to us from Oracle.
Before friday everything worked fine. Saturyday night I finally got to take
the box offline (for the first time in 2 years) to patch him. He was at kernel
15 before, now at kernel 05.
However after the patching, something odd has occured. We can no longer print
really large print jobs to our smaller printers. Seems to be a max page count
of 20 or 30. When we tried to print a 166 page doc, it gets to page 30ish, and
then just repeats. Over and over again.
Now, normally I would just assume it was the buffer size on the smaller
printers. But all my users and promissing on their imortal soul that this
worked before I applied the pathes. So I have to at least for now assume they
are not full of foo.
So has anyone seen this? I'm going to go through the patch list and try to
back out of anything printer related.
Oh, this was the patch cluster from 7.28. I had been testing it since then on
my tests hosts. Unfortunetely they evidently never tried printing from the
test hosts :/
