D1000 Configuration

Solaris 8
D1000
2 x E4500

I have Solaris 8 system with a D1000 shared between two servers.
I want to change the configuration such that either one system
sees one channel on the array OR one system sees the entire
array only ei:

All the disks on the left are only seen from one system (top
system) and all the disks on the right side of the array are
seen from another system (bottom system). Problem with this is
that when I moved the cables... to match this desired
configuration I kept getting scsi errors. I believe it is
because of the SCSI initiator ID and proper termination. How
can I get this configureation to work?

OR

All the disks on the right side of the array are seen by one
SCSI channel on one system (top system) and all the other left
side disks are seen by another channel on the same system (top
system SCSI channel 2). Then I can use another D1000 and do the
same to the other system (bottom system). How can I get this
configuration to work? Do I need terminators and how do I
switch the cables to get one machines to take the D1000 half the
disk on SCSI 1 and half on SCSI 2?

My current working configuration is a bit of a PAIN but it works
(this is what I want to change. I don't want to see the same
disks from both systems!):

TOP E4500 is conected such that one SCSI card goes to the LEFT
side of the D1000 and the other SCSI card goes to the RIGHT side
of the D1000. This one is configued with SCSI initiator ID 6
(scsi-initiator-id=6)

BOTTOM E4500 is conected such that one SCSI card goes to the
LEFT side of the D1000 and the other SCSI card goes to the RIGHT
side of the D1000. This one is configued with SCSI initiator ID
6 (scsi-initiator-id=7)

The net result is that I can see from one side disks on both
sides of the array. ei:

>From the Web it looks like my configuration is this:

http://www.filibeto.org/sun/lib/hardware/storedge/805-2624-10.pdf

Top system SCSI1 to left left-most adapter (as IN) and the one
next ot it with a TERMINATOR) Top system SCSI2 to right
left-most adapter (as IN) and the one next ot it with a
TERMINATOR).

I am not sure what to do with the SCSI initinator ID. Just
blank it out at the OK prompt to get the SCSI to behave normal!?
Other thing I am not sure is about the SCSI ID Switch on the
back of the D1000... what should it be set to allow the
non-shared mode!?

If anyone knows for sure then let me know... please.
