Reconfiguring an A1000 - and getting the data back!

Hi,

I'm taking the 18 G drives out of our A1000 and replacing them with 36G drives.
I talked to SUN, and they told me to take al the drives out, including the cache
battery to reset the contoller to the factory default, use rm6 to reconfig. So
far so good... here is my probelm....

I have approx. 90Gigs of data to dump back onto the A1000, and so far my
attempts have been painful. I've tried backing to AIT 200G tapes, striping them,
and even dumping the whole enchilada to another RAID5 disk, but the ufsdump
seems to time out on the Cybernetics AIT drives, or the ufsdump | ufsrestore to
the other RAID blows up after working for 12 hours.

What is the fastest and safest way to un-populate and then re-populate my A1000?
I only have a weekend to do this, and if the commands bomb, I'm in trouble come
Monday.
