On a Solaris 8 box I get inconsistant results from who, last and last -f
utmpx
who shows a user is logged in on two pts.
last shows the person was last logged in on Apr 18 but not currently on.
last -f utmpx shows the person has one current login and one recent login.
timestamps on wtmpx and utmpx are both current.
any suggestions as to whats wrong?
root@hostname# last -f utmpx | grep '^em1986'
em1986 pts/13 asisray Mon Jun 10 16:08 still logged in
