Trouble pinging to another sun box.

Hello,

I am trying ssh from one Sun/Solaris server to another
Sun/Solaris server but am unsuccessful. Turns out the
two boxes can't ping eachother. I believe my settings
are correct, the have the same netmasks AND I am able
to ping a linux box on the same netmask, so that would
rule out a bad nic/cable/etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I've been looking
thru documentation & forums but have not come upon a
solution so I'm asking for your help. Let me know if
you need more info. I'll summarize once resolved.
Thanks again... Here are some details:

Server A : (Solaris)

ce0:
flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu
1500 index 2
        inet x.x.x.2 netmask ff000000 broadcast
10.255.255.255
        ether 0:3:ba:19:33:2d

Server B : (Solaris)

hme1:
flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu
1500 index 3
        inet x.x.x.3 netmask ff000000 broadcast
10.255.255.255
        ether 8:0:20:ab:fc:44

Pinging from Server A to Server B :

# ping x.x.x.3
no answer from x.x.x.3

... trussing the ping process, this is repeated:

poll(0xFFBEFB60, 1, -1) Err#4
EINTR
sendto(4, "\b\0 ME5 sD1\018 A x\v Q".., 64, 32768,
0x0005C340, 16) = 64
alarm(1) = 0
setcontext(0xFFBEF848)
Received signal #14, SIGALRM, in poll() [caught]
poll(0xFFBEFB60, 1, -1) Err#4
EINTR

Pinging from Server B to Server A :

# ping x.x.x.2
no response from x.x.x.2

... and this is shown/repeated while trussing the ping
proc:

poll(0xFFBEFBA0, 1, -1) Err#4
EINTR
sendto(4, "\b\094BE1E =\010 A x\tC4".., 64, 32768,
0x0005C340, 16) = 64
alarm(1) = 0
setcontext(0xFFBEF888)
Received signal #14, SIGALRM, in poll() [caught]
poll(0xFFBEFBA0, 1, -1) Err#4
EINTR
