UFS's forcedirectio on Disksuite mirror

Hi all,

To try to improve a database (Sybase ASE12.5) throughput, we're thinking
about setting the forcedirectio parameter to the UFS partition the database
files are. This way we should avoid the database having to wait for
buffered writes...

The improvement is noticeable on a non-mirrored system.

But, this box's 2 disks are mirrored with Solstice Disksuite (4.2) and I'm
wondering about any improvement in database speed and if some bad side
effects (or bugs) are to be expected.

Does anybody have tried this already?

oh, the box is running Solaris 8.

Thanks in advance, Eric
