auto_home problem on base install.

I have a Solaris_Required installation of Solaris 8 and I am unable to get
automountd to start, below is the error message that comes up in
/var/adm/messages:

Jun 10 11:44:48 bv1 automountd[748]: [ID 956970 daemon.error] svc_create: cannot register 100099 vers 3 on ticotsord
Jun 10 11:44:48 bv1 automountd[748]: [ID 668993 daemon.error] unable to create service

Here's similar errors when I try to start even mountd:

Jun 10 11:36:17 bv1 mountd[674]: [ID 598860 daemon.error] svc_create: could not register prog 100231 vers 1 on ticlts
Jun 10 11:36:17 bv1 mountd[674]: [ID 598860 daemon.error] svc_create: could not register prog 100231 vers 1 on ticotsord
