I have a system running Solaris 9 that has been functioning properly for over
a year. Just recently users have been unable to ftp this system. They get a
530 login incorrect error. But they are able to get logged in using telnet.
However, they can get logged into a Solaris 8 system. Even more of an oddity
is that this does not happen to all users. Some accounts can get logged in
(via ftp) to this Solaris 9 system, yet other accounts can't.
As stated previously, the system has been functional for quite some time with
no changes. I have checked all the standard configuration issues (such as the
/etc/shells file, etc...) but to no avail.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
