Hello List,
I'm running Solaris 9 on Sun Hardware. I need sendmail to
automatically authenticate to an SMTP relay. I'm running the
following command line:
# /usr/lib/sendmail -F `hostname` -f `whoami` someone@somewhere.com
But the SMTP server is responding:
550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for errinlarsen@gmail.com
I'm sure that I need to setup either /etc/mail/default-auth-info file
or /etc/mail/authinfo.db or something like that. I just don't know
how. I read that the latest version of sendmail will disable the
DefaultAuthInfo rule or somesuch if the AuthInfo rule is setup. How
do I know if that is happening? I'm not sure where to turn next for
how to make this work.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
