Hi.

I would like to totally remove CDE from a fresh Solaris 9 instalation. I
am using gnome as default window manager but I noted that dtlogin
handles my system logon so I am not sure what would be the impact of
remove all CDE related packages installed on the system. Also, I dont
know know if gnome uses some packaged named "X", like:

nietzsche% pkginfo | grep -y "X Window"
ALE SUNW5xmft Traditional Chinese (BIG5)
X Windows Platform minimum required Fonts Package
ALE SUNWcxmft Simplified Chinese (EUC) X
Windows Platform minimum Required Fonts
system SUNWeuxwe UTF-8 X Window Environment
ALE SUNWkxmft Korean UTF-8 X Windows
Platform minimum Required Fonts
application SUNWtcxow TCX Window System Support
system SUNWtxfnt Thai X Windows Platform
required Fonts Package
system SUNWxi18n X Window System
Internationalization Common Package
system SUNWxi18x X Window System
Internationalization Common Package (64-bit)
system SUNWxim X Window System X Input
Method Server Package
system SUNWximx X Window System X Input
Method Server Package (64-bit)
system SUNWxwcft X Window System common (not
required) fonts
system SUNWxwcsl X Window System Display
Postscript CID support library
[snip]

I need to safe disk space so I just want to use gnome requeried files
and that is. Wonder how to replace dtlogin which default gnome log in
utility and set it for start up.

Any comment or link is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

p.s. I saw a thread about this topic on the list but they didnt refer
about dtlogin.
