Gents,

I have a problem restoring the backed up files.
Here're the details;

# ufsdump 0uf - /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0 | ( rsh
192.168.10.10 dd of=/dev/rmt/0n bs=1024 )

  DUMP: Writing 32 Kilobyte records
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Fri 24 Sep 2004

DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
  DUMP: Dumping /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s0 (bpdbs01:/) to
standard output.
DUMP: Mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
  DUMP: Mapping (Pass II) [directories]
  DUMP: Estimated 147448 blocks (72.00MB).
  DUMP: Dumping (Pass III) [directories]
DUMP: Dumping (Pass IV) [regular files]
  DUMP: 147390 blocks (71.97MB) on 1 volume at 429

#

testserver# mt rewind
testserver# ufsrestore -i
ufsrestore > cd etc
ufsrestore > add nodename
ufsrestore > ext
You have not read any volumes yet.
Unless you know which volume your file(s) are on you
should start
with the last volume and work towards the first.
Specify next volume #: 1
partial block read: 244 should be 1024
abort? [yn] n
You have read volumes: 1
Specify next volume #: 0
Volume numbers are positive numerics
You have read volumes: 1
Specify next volume #: 2
Mount volume 2
then enter volume name (default: /dev/rmt/0)
Wrong volume (1)
You have read volumes: 1
Specify next volume #:

So, what's that error message saying
"partial block read: 244 should be 1024"

I don't get it... bs=1024 has been used when
I ran ufsdump.
Do you have any idea why I can't restore
the files from the tape?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

John
