RE: DiskSuite: Inappropriate ioctl for device

I've uninstalled DS 4.2 and while trying to use the built-in version, I'm
having a problem where it will not seem to recognize any of the devices. All
of the disks show up in "format", can be formatted, newfs'd, mounted, etc...
I'm also unable to create any db replicas.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks,
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

DiskSuite 4.2 on Solaris9 ?

DiskSuite 4.2 is shipped for Solaris7, AFAIK.

You should use the version shipped with Solaris9, it should be installed
already when you've installed Solaris9 initially. Use "smc"
for the GUI version, or the shell commands e.g. metastat, metadb, metattach,
etc.

There is also no "metatool" anymore, by the way. "smc" is your way to
administrate metadevices on Solaris9 with a GUI.

  Cheers, Peter
