Having run /etc/sbin/directoryserver and idsconfig to configure an LDAP
service on Solaris 9 and managed to import some data (passwd, shadow, group
and auto_home) using ldapaddent I find that I still cannot login to those
users who are within LDAP (though the home directories can be auto_mounted
without problem.)
When I dump out the info ie...
# ldaplist -l passwd fred
dn: uid=fred,ou=people,dc=mc,dc=man,dc=ac,dc=uk
cn: fred
uidNumber: 900
gidNumber: 10
homeDirectory: /home/fred
loginShell: /bin/bash
shadowLastChange: 12671
objectClass: posixAccount
objectClass: shadowAccount
objectClass: account
objectClass: top
uid: fred
shadowFlag: 0
there is no password information despite explicitly requesting crypt
passwords in the idsconfig run. Is this an indication that no password has
been set when the shadow file was imported or another problem?
Thanks,
