Dear Sun Managers,

I was informed by my security group that the binary
kernel/genunix is a security risk as its permissions
are world readable and executable which would allow
anyone to build a kernel.

My questions are:

(a) I would like to know can the file /kernel/genunix
permission be changed to 644 and would the system
still be abled boot up?

(b) What would be the implication if this file
/kernel/genunix changes it to 644?

(c) If it is not advisable to change it, what is the
reason and is there any supported document for that?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.
Tom
