Good day,
I have several V210 systems running Solaris 9 :
SunOS train11 5.9 Generic_117171-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210
They all have the same problem (which isn't surprising, since they are
all jumped from the same config...). The problem is that I can not get
a cde console window (dtterm -C) to grab any text sent to /dev/console
It doesn't matter if I am logged into the ALOM console or not, nothing I
have tried thus far lets me echo foo >/dev/console and have it show
up in the cde console window.
These machines are running the bog-standard syslog.conf file.
We need this functionality for the training lab, as the various lab
scripts for training on cluster services make use of /dev/console and
the students need to be able to see these messages. Note: the students
do not have access to the ALOM, only a remote X session via VNC.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Trever
