Hi,

I am having problem with telnet on one of the SUN machines. It is running
Solaris 7.

I am able to login to this machine fine from console from root. After I
login, if I do a telnet to the same host, it fails.
(w.x.y.z is the IP address of the problem machine)

rlogin is working fine.

I checked /etc/default/login, /etc/inetd.conf and /usr/bin/login. No
problems there.

# telnet w.x.y.z
Trying w.x.y.z...
Connected to w.x.y.z.
Escape character is '^]'.

SunOS 5.7

login: root
Connection closed by foreign host.
# rlogin w.x.y.z
Password:
Last login: Thu Jun 6 15:40:51 from :0
Sun Microsystems Inc. SunOS 5.7 Generic October 1998
#

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Rajiv
