dns named has high cpu load

Hi Experts

I have a e250 server with 2* 296MHz CPU and 512Mb ram running solaris 8 THis
is the primary dns server.
The response of the server is very slow. in sar it is showing 70% in user and
30% system and ideal is 0.
the prstat is showing the named process using 80%of cpu. in vmstat sc is also
continously over 3000 and w is more than 36.

please suggest me whether the dns require any tuning or its time to upgrade
the system.
