root mirror disk

Hi all

I am maintainig a E450 servers setup. The system has the mirroring of root disk using the disksuite.

Now it is found that one of the root disk is not showing on the format prompt. I have little exposur to Disksuit.

Will it be advisible to shutdown the machine in this state to check whether the disk is detecting at OK prompt ? (this server is production server , cannot take any risk)

My doubt is if the disk is found faulty , will the system boot properly without this mirror disk ?

Pls.guide me in to this to correct the problem.
