hello,
i notice poor transfer rates between my differents sun
~2.2 MB/s

all machines have hme (sol8 or sol9) and speed is forced to 100Mb/s without autoneg (cisco switches correctly configured)
i use a soft called nttcp to fast verify speed:
hobbit-henry% ./test.sh scr
     Bytes Real s CPU s Real-MBit/s CPU-MBit/s Calls Real-C/s CPU-C/s
l 8388608 1.24 0.24 54.2954 279.6203 2102 1700.65 8758.3
1 8388608 1.24 0.45 54.0133 149.1308 2048 1648.35 4551.1
l 8388608 1.22 0.34 55.0100 197.3790 2048 1678.77 6023.5
1 8388608 1.22 0.42 55.1227 159.7830 2620 2152.05 6238.1

what i don't understand is if i test between 2 linux pc (3c59x) on the same network, speed is increased by 4:
ncftp /local/users/henry > get fichier1Go
fichier1Go: 0.98 GB 8.68 MB/s

but betwwen sun client and pc server or two sun, i obtain:
ncftp /local/users/henry > get fichier1Go
fichier1Go: ETA: 4:48 0.38/ 0.98 GB 2.12 MB/s

any idea?

thanks for help,

gerard henry
