Hello managers,
We have a sun blade 1500 machine with solaris 8 installed.
we are making transition from nis to ldap+kerberos. This machine is
purely an ldap client. when the nis server restarts, the machine fails
to give a dtlogin. dtlogin screen hangs as the username is entered. I
cannot get a ssh or telnet login to the machine. The machine becomes
totally inaccesible.
The /var/adm/messages had shown that the machine was able to find the
domain after some time the nis server restarted.
but there has been lot of time resets and daemon errors by the xntpd
xntpd[563]: [ID 127714 daemon.error] two instances of default
interface for 131.xxx.xx.xx in hash table
...
but the machine works fine on a reboot. I am not sure whether it is
the xntpd causing the machine hung problem. I would like to know is
any other place i can look for the cause of the problem
any help is appreciated
