jumpstart x86

I need to brush up on jumpstart. I have an old PC
I've set up as the JS server. I have an older PC I'm
trying to use as a JS client. I doubt it has PXE (but
could it? When did this feature come out?) so I'm
using the Solaris 9 cd to boot from. Then I select
Custom Jumpstart.

I'm obviously doing something wrong cause the JS
client looks and looks for RPC network info and
doesn't find it. Then it drops me back into the
interactive install.

So.... does anyone know 1) PXE boot>> what model PC
would have this feature? 2) PXE boot >> do you need a
certain type of nic for it to work (I don't have an on
board nic, I have an PCI SMC II card) 3) Jumpstart >>
what am I missing? I have bootp/dhcp running... ???
4) several steps in the JS documentation say "enter
the MAC address of your NIC"... how am I supposed to
know that when the box has never been booted!?

Rsvp, and thanks!

-Ed.
