 Hi Gurus,

I have a problem with one of my SS5 machine. Recently I moved a SS5
from the stores and powered it on, after which the nic card is refusing to
come up, I changed the port on the switch, I changed the cable and infact
cleaned the whole machine

The machine comes up to this stage and stops responding

 The usual bootup screen

 Banner < Sun Microsystems >
 Memory .... Hostid ....

................................................
................................................

routing dameon started .... after this the machine stops responding what
could be the reason.

After this I infact removed the network cable, I get this error

le0: carrier disconnect --- cable disconnected or hub link test disabled ?
le0: carrier disconnect --- cable disconnected or hub link test disabled ?
le0: carrier disconnect --- cable disconnected or hub link test disabled ?
le0: carrier disconnect --- cable disconnected or hub link test disabled ?

After reconnecting the cable, the machine does not respond.

I tried testing the nic card on OK prompt by using " test net "

For loop-back test it says ok
For internal test it says ok
For external test it says error ( Transceiver error )

What could be the reason ??? I know I am missing something here which is
pretty silly.

With Regards,
Santosh M Hulkund
