Hi,

I would appreciate any feedback I could get on this issue. I
recently installed SunOne Directory services a primary and a replicating
server on a paid of SunFire Solaris 5.9 boxes. This was painful enough
(converting NIS to LDAP) but it works for the most part. The problems began
when I started to integrate Solaris 8 boxes.
I have read vaguely that sol 8 has some serious issues with LDAP... but I
was able to get my Sol 8 box (Netra T-105) to load the profile and ask for a
reboot. Well I rebooted that box on Friday at 730 AM, and it has been
unable to reboot since. First there was a weird network conflict because
the IP specified in the boot process was wrong, but I was able to go to
single user mode and fix this. Ever since then, the box hangs when I boot
right after loading the RPC Services. I can, of course, boot in
single-user, but I am at a loss as to:

#1 why it wont boot further (There are no messages in the messages, syslog,
or dmesg)
#2 what I can do to fix this issue

Thanks in advance
