Hi everyone,
Out of the blue (nobody logged into it etc.) our mailscanner (Solaris 9,
V210, 2x1GHz, 2GB) noted the following warning:
unix: [ID 892202 kern.warning] WARNING: Debugging requested; hardware
watchdog disabled; reboot to re-enable.
This is not a warning I've ever heard of, and neither has our omniscient
friend Google.
And 3 seconds after this message, the mimedefang-multiplexor running on
it died a mysterious death and we were without our daily spam all of a
sudden.
So, does anybody know what the error signified, and what might have
triggered it? And could that also cause random death of other processes?
Regards,
Paul Boven.
