Cause of repeated crash dumps on Netra X1/Solaris 9 (Generic_117171-02)

Hi all,

I think this problem is related to a bad CPU or memory chip, but I'm unable to find any references on Google that confirm my suspicions (most hits are related to software patches that are already installed on this box). This Netra X1 was recently reinstalled with Solaris 9 with the latest Sol 9 patch cluster. After approximately one week, the system started crashing with the following error: "BAD TRAP: type=31 rp=2a100045540 addr=100 mmu_fsr=0 occurred in module "unix" due to a NULL pointer dereference"

Has anyone seen a similar problem? I'm about to toss this pizza box into the bay, but I'd like hear any feedback from all of you prior to doing so.

Thanks in advance,

Kevin
