Hi,
On a gigabit ethernet while transferring a file
via ftp from one SUN server to another SUN server, we
found that only 200 megabits/sec speed was used. When
transferring the same file over three diferent sesions
of ftp to three different machines the bndwidth
utlization by sending server was 600 megabits/sec.
All the machines support gigabit ethernet and the
links from the servers to the switch showed 1000 MB
link as active.
I assume when Solaris has to file transfer over
only one session , it doesnt utlize entire bandwidth
available. Are there any settings or tunings within
Solaris that will make it use the entire bandwidth.
Regards,
Hrishi.
