unused disk slice ....

Hi there,

I have Solaris 8 running on an E420 and want to move use some space that is not being used on one of the slices, but is before the last partition of /var ....

Basically I have a disk that is formatted in this way -

Slice 0 - /
Slice 1 - swap
Slice 2 - "backup"
Slice 3 - /usr
Slice 4 - "unused"
Slice 5 - /var
Slice 6 - unassigned
Slice 7 - unassigned

I would t utilise the "unused" slice of disk to give me more space on the disk to use on another slice. How can I maybe make slice 4 /var ? Is it as simple as booting into single user mode and copying the /var into slice 4, changing /etc/vfstab, then re-booting ??

Looking forward to your responses ..
Thanks in advance ....
Tis
