Hi,
Saturday I tried installing an additional system board in my E3500.
After shutting down, installing the new board, and powering back up,
the machine fails POST, and never gives an OpenBoot prompt.
I've since tried four different system boards, individually and in
combinations, two different I/O boards, three different sets of
RAM, and even several different power supplies, and no matter which
combination I use, I still get about the same errors, though of course
reflecting whatever slot number I have the system board plugged into.
I'm now suspecting a bad 501-4946 clock board, backplane, or some other
quirky hardware failure, since I have trouble believing all my system
boards, RAM, and I/O boards are suddenly broken.
If the below diag message means anything to anyone, or if anyone else has
had a similar sounding disaster, I'd be very interested in hearing about it.
