Extremely Slow Connection via Exceed

We have a couple of Sun servers in our network. Our engineers connect
to them via Exceed. About a month ago, our engineers started
complaining that the connection was really slow. I have been trying to
figure out what the problem might be, but as I am not that familiar with
Sun, I have not been able to figure anything out. I have eliminated any
networking problems by using a known good cross-over Ethernet cable to
directly connect one of the Windows workstations to one of the Sun
machines. Pings seem to work fine, but when I launch Exceed, it takes
about 1.5 minutes before I am even prompted for a username. This
problem also exists from multiple Windows machines with different
versions of Exceed, so I do not think that it is the clients that are
the problem.

Does anyone have experience with similar problems? Any help at all will
be greatly appreciated.
